Meriton Suites Broadbeach: An Honest Review

The 32-storey apartment tower on the Gold Coast Highway - what the suites are really like, who it suits, and who should book elsewhere.

Meriton Suites Broadbeach: An Honest Review

Meriton Suites Broadbeach is one of the most searched-for places to stay on the entire Gold Coast, and the reason is simple: it hits the middle of the market harder than almost anything else in the suburb. Full apartments with kitchens and laundries, indoor and outdoor pools, and a location at 2669 Gold Coast Highway that puts Pacific Fair, the beach and the dining precinct all within a short walk - at indicative low-season rates from around $180 a night.

But a serviced apartment tower is not a hotel, and that distinction is exactly where Meriton delights some guests and disappoints others.

This is an independent review - we’re not affiliated with Meriton. Here’s what you’re actually booking, the honest trade-offs, and how it stacks up against Broadbeach’s alternatives.

The Verdict in 30 Seconds

  • What it is: a 32-storey serviced apartment tower - studios plus 1, 2 and 3 bedroom suites with full kitchens, in-suite laundry and balconies
  • Facilities: indoor pool and spa, outdoor pool, sauna, gym, free wifi, 24-hour reception
  • Location: about 5-8 minutes’ walk to both the beach and Pacific Fair; the dining precinct is on your doorstep
  • Indicative price: from around $180/night low season - strong value for the space you get
  • Know before you go: onsite parking is paid (recently listed around $15/night) and this is apartment-style, not full hotel service
  • Best for: families, groups and stays of 3+ nights. Look elsewhere for luxury hotel service or rock-bottom budget

The Suites: Apartment Space, Hotel Booking

The core product is space. Meriton’s suites run from studios up to three-bedroom configurations, and the apartments are genuinely apartment-sized - the brand’s own line is ‘up to three times larger than a traditional hotel room’, and for the 2 and 3 bedroom suites that tracks.

Every suite has a private balcony, opening windows, and the two features that quietly make multi-night stays cheaper and easier: a proper kitchen (full-size fridge, cooktop, microwave, espresso machine) and an in-suite washer and dryer. For a family of four staying five nights, the ability to do a load of washing and make breakfast before a theme park day is worth real money - hundreds of dollars against eating every meal on Surf Parade.

Higher floors of the 32-storey tower get serious views - ocean to the east, hinterland sunsets to the west. View categories cost more; if you’re booking a lower floor anyway, put the savings toward a better suite size instead.

🛗
Suite size beats floor height

A bigger suite on level 8 beats a cramped one on level 28 for everything except the photos. Prioritise bedrooms and space first, views second.

Facilities: The Pools Carry It

The facilities list is the strongest in its price bracket: an indoor heated pool and spa, a separate outdoor pool with sunbeds, a sauna and a gym. The indoor pool matters more than visitors expect - on winter evenings and rainy summer afternoons it keeps kids entertained when every outdoor-pool-only building goes quiet.

Wifi is free and unlimited, reception runs 24 hours, and suites come with smart TV streaming (cast from your own accounts).

Now the honest trade-offs. Onsite parking is paid - recently listed around $15 per night, which is mid-pack for Broadbeach towers but stings if you weren’t expecting it. And the serviced-apartment model means less hand-holding than a full hotel: housekeeping arrangements differ from daily hotel service depending on stay length, and there’s no resort-style kids club, day spa or in-house fine dining. You’re trading hotel theatre for apartment practicality.

🚗
Budget for parking

Add roughly $15 a night for the onsite carpark (confirm the current rate when booking). If you don’t need a car, the tram and 50 cent fares honestly cover most Gold Coast trips.

The Location: Why It Books Out

2669 Gold Coast Highway is about as central as Broadbeach gets. The walk to the sand at Kurrawa Beach is around 5-8 minutes; Pacific Fair’s 400+ stores are the same distance the other way; and the Surf Parade and Oracle precinct restaurants are effectively on the doorstep.

The G:link tram stops nearby (Broadbeach South and the Pacific Fair side are both close), which - at a flat 50 cents a trip - puts Surfers Paradise, the convention centre and the theme park connections within easy, cheap reach. It’s one of the few Gold Coast bases where genuinely not hiring a car is the comfortable option.

The one location caveat: the tower fronts the Gold Coast Highway, which carries traffic and the tram. Light sleepers should request a higher floor or an ocean-side aspect away from the road - worth a polite note on your booking.

🚊
Skip the car hire entirely

Tram on the doorstep, beach and shops in walking distance, 50 cent fares everywhere - this is the building to test a car-free Gold Coast trip from.

Who Should Book It - and Who Shouldn’t

Book Meriton Suites Broadbeach if: you’re a family or group who’ll actually use the kitchen and laundry; you’re staying 3+ nights where apartment living compounds the savings; you want indoor and outdoor pools at a mid-market price; or you’re doing the theme parks and want washing machines between park days.

Book elsewhere if: you want full hotel service and occasion-level polish - the Sofitel or The Darling at The Star do that properly, at a higher price. If you want resort theatrics (swim-up bars, kids clubs, day spas in the building), The Star Grand is the local pick. And if it’s purely about the lowest price, Mantra Broadbeach on the Park and the older budget apartment buildings undercut it.

The bottom line: Meriton Suites Broadbeach is the suburb’s best space-for-money equation. It wins on square metres, kitchens, pools and location, and concedes on service ceremony and the parking fee. For most families and groups, that’s the right trade.

Frequently Asked Questions

For families, groups and stays of three nights or more - yes. You get apartment-sized suites with full kitchens and in-suite laundry, indoor and outdoor pools, a sauna and gym, and a location 5-8 minutes’ walk from both the beach and Pacific Fair, at indicative low-season rates from around $180 a night. It’s not the right pick if you want full luxury hotel service - the Sofitel or The Darling serve that market.

About a 5-8 minute walk to the sand at Kurrawa Beach. Pacific Fair shopping centre is a similar walk in the other direction, the Surf Parade dining precinct is effectively on the doorstep, and the G:link tram (flat 50 cent fares) stops nearby.

Yes to both. Facilities include an indoor heated pool and spa, an outdoor pool, sauna and gym. Onsite parking is available but paid - recently listed around $15 per night (confirm the current rate when booking).

Studios plus 1, 2 and 3 bedroom suites across the 32-storey tower. All suites include private balconies, full kitchens (full-size fridge, cooktop, espresso machine), in-suite washer and dryer, and free unlimited wifi. Higher floors offer ocean or hinterland views at a premium.

Meriton Suites Broadbeach is also the featured accommodation for the Gold Coast World Masters Golf Championship (11 to 17 October 2026), with the event transfer package collecting from Surf Parade, so expect that week to book out early.
