Best Steak Restaurants in Broadbeach
Six places to eat a proper steak within a ten-minute walk of the Oasis - plus the three best elsewhere on the Gold Coast - with steak prices read off each venue’s own menu on 27 September 2026.

Broadbeach has one true steakhouse and several restaurants that take their grill seriously. We checked around 90 venues that appear for steak searches on the Gold Coast, screened out the Japanese, seafood-only and teppanyaki places, and read the current menu of every venue on this list on 27 September 2026. The prices below are real steaks from those menus, with the cut, weight and marble score where the venue states it.
We ranked on the beef program and on recent reviews rather than lifetime Google stars. A word of caution on those stars: at four venues near Broadbeach the most recent Google reviews arrived in a burst, or were almost all five-star and named a server, or followed an offer of a free dessert for a review. We have noted where that applies and not relied on those ratings.
This is an independent guide: we are not paid by any venue listed.

1. Moo Moo The Wine Bar + Grill - Best Steakhouse
Moo Moo, at Broadbeach on the Park (2685 Gold Coast Highway), is the one dedicated steakhouse in central Broadbeach and has been trading for more than 20 years. Its menu (dated June 2026) runs to around 20 cuts, from graded Wagyu by Westholme, Sir Harry, Phoenix, King River and Pardoo through to a purebred Wagyu striploin at marble score 11+ and Japanese A5 Miyazaki at 12+. The wine list runs to more than 900 bottles.
On 27 September 2026: rib or scotch fillet MB 3+ 300 g $76, F1 Wagyu striploin MB 6-7+ 250 g $81, a 50-day dry-aged striploin on the bone 400 g $88, Miyazaki A5 150 g $130, and a signature 1 kg Westholme Wagyu rump cap roast carved at the table for $195 (two) or $215 (three), which takes 55 minutes. Most cuts are marked halal. Allow 30 minutes for steaks, one main per person, and add 10 per cent on Sundays and 15 per cent on public holidays.
It is open daily for lunch (12-3pm) and dinner (5:30-9:30pm), with bookings on OpenTable. Recent reviews are strong - the 50 newest average 4.64 - with the minority complaints about steaks cooked past the order, long waits on the roast, and the price.
The 1 kg Wagyu rump cap carved at the table is the dish that makes Moo Moo an occasion. Order it when you sit down - it takes 55 minutes.
2. Smokehouse Meat & Co - Best Value Graded Steak
Smokehouse, at Shop 4/90 Surf Parade, is a South African-influenced flame grill with its own butchery, and the best-value graded steak within five minutes of the Oasis. From its April 2026 menu: Cape Grim grass-fed shortcut 200 g $35, Black Onyx rump 300 g $50, a 400 g T-bone $60, Jacks Creek Wagyu striploin MB 5+ 250 g $79 and a 28-day dry-aged sirloin on the bone 400 g $79. It also lists a “Kobe” eye fillet; that is the venue’s own description, and we could not confirm certified Kobe beef.
Dinner deals run 4-6pm (not on public or school holidays), with 10 per cent on Sundays and 15 per cent on public holidays. Its site says it is open 11am to 10pm while Google shows shorter hours on some days, so check if you are eating late. Its 50 newest reviews average 4.60; mention the deal by name when you pay, as one reviewer found it was not applied automatically.
The 4-6pm dinner deals are the cheapest way into a graded steak in Broadbeach. They do not apply in school holidays.
3. Blowfish - Best Surf and Turf
Blowfish, at 3 Oracle Boulevard, is an upmarket seafood restaurant run by the Moo Moo group, with a “Steak by Moo Moo” section on the menu. From its July 2026 menu: Diamantina Black Onyx tenderloin MB 3+ 200 g $66, S. Kidman scotch fillet 300 g $74, Sanchoku F1 Wagyu rump cap 300 g $88 and King River F4 Wagyu scotch fillet MB 8-9+ 280 g $135 - alongside oysters, caviar and seafood towers.
It is the pick when half the table wants seafood. Its recent reviews (4.34 across the newest 50) run hotter on price, wine mark-up and slow service than on the steak, and it can be loud. Book on OpenTable.
Same beef supplier as Moo Moo, with a full seafood menu. The simplest answer when one person wants a steak and another wants lobster.
4. Nineteen at The Star - Steak With a View
Nineteen, on level 19 of The Darling at The Star, is a rooftop modern Australian restaurant rather than a steakhouse, but its current menu (August 2026) has a real grill section: Stockyard Darling Downs Black Angus sirloin 300 g MS 3+ $64, scotch fillet 350 g $65, eye fillet 250 g $68, Kiwami Wagyu rump cap 300 g MS 9+ $80 and a 750 g bone-in Mayura Station Wagyu sirloin MS 9+ for $220. Set menus run $119 to $160, and its wine list has won Three Glasses in every year from 2020 to 2025.
Dinner is Tuesday to Saturday from 5:30pm. There is a dress code - collared shirts or neat T-shirts, long pants or tailored shorts - and at least one recent guest was turned away over it. Enter via The Darling. Recent reviews praise the view and criticise slow service.
It is enforced. No thongs, no beach shorts. Under-18s must enter via The Darling with an adult.
5. Garden Kitchen & Bar - Best Mid-Price Steak at The Star
Garden Kitchen & Bar, on the casino level of The Star, is a casual indoor-outdoor restaurant with steaks on the grill menu: a Kilcoy Ebony prime rump MB 4+ 300 g with chips and peppercorn sauce for $40, a Grand Chester eye fillet 200 g for $65, and a Stockyard Angus tomahawk at market price. On Mondays from 5pm, “Steak & Shiraz Mondays” adds a free glass of Wolf Blass Shiraz with any steak (a bottle with the tomahawk), while the offer runs.
Dinner is daily from 5pm; it is closed for private functions on 22 October and 19 November 2026. Its recent reviews are almost all five-star, which may reflect prompted reviews - the menu and price are the reasons to go.
A $40 graded rump with a free glass of Shiraz is the best-value steak dinner inside The Star.
6. Broadbeach Tavern - Best Budget Steak
The Broadbeach Tavern, at the Oasis beside Kurrawa Beach, is the cheapest sit-down steak in Broadbeach. From its April 2026 menu: 300 g rump from the Maranoa district $38, 200 g Darling Downs eye fillet $46, 300 g grass-fed rib fillet $52, a 400 g T-bone $59 and a 1 kg tomahawk for $102, all with chips and salad or vegetables and mash. The bistro runs daily from 11:30am to 9pm, walk-ins welcome.
It is a family pub, not a steakhouse, and its very high Google rating came from a burst of reviews in a single week in September 2026, so we would not lean on it. Recent complaints are about short-staffed bars and the kitchen closing early on busy nights. See our Broadbeach Tavern review.
Pub prices, a kids’ menu and the beach across the road. Eat before 7:30pm on busy nights.
Also in Broadbeach
KOST Bar and Grill (Oracle Boulevard) cooks over wood fire and lists graded steaks from $55 (200 g Black Angus tenderloin) to $190 (650 g Jacks Creek scotch fillet), but it is a share-plates restaurant rather than a steak specialist, and its recent reviews are all five-star and mostly name a server.
The Loose Moose (Surf Parade) is a loud, casual bar-grill: 300 g sirloin $49, 400 g Wagyu rump MB 5+ $65, sides extra.
Outback Steakhouse at Pacific Fair is the chain option for families (sirloin 250 g $46.95 on the national menu; prices may vary by store).
Social Eating House only offers a market-priced Wagyu steak on specials, so we have not listed it as a steak venue.
Moo Moo, Smokehouse, Blowfish and KOST all list Sunday and public-holiday surcharges on their menus.
Best Steak Elsewhere on the Gold Coast
Hurricane’s Grill & Bar, Surfers Paradise (3.3 km north, tram or short drive) has the clearest dry-aged program on the coast: a 21-day Coonamble Reserve 400 g bone-in sirloin $84 and 500 g rib eye $96, plus a 200 g Darling Downs sirloin at $55. It has the largest review base in this set (3,272) and the strongest recent trend. It feels like a busy grill rather than fine dining.
Cav’s Steakhouse, Runaway Bay (about 12 km north) is the old-school option, with MSA beef aged 45 to 60 days and sides included: a 180 g grass-fed eye fillet $52.50, 450 g rump $53.90. It has moved from its long-time Labrador home to 6 Bayview Street, Runaway Bay; some long-time regulars say it is not what it was.
The Glenelg Public House, Mermaid Beach (about 1.6 km south) is a dedicated steakhouse room that collects the most steak-specific praise near Broadbeach, with tomahawks by the 100 g. It changed its menu in early September 2026 and recent reviews have been uneven, so we would check the latest before booking.
Hurricane’s is on the Esplanade in Surfers Paradise. The G:link from Broadbeach North to Cavill Avenue takes about six minutes.
