Best Italian Restaurants in Broadbeach
Seven Italian restaurants within walking distance of Oracle Boulevard, ranked on recent reviews, with pasta and pizza prices read off each venue’s own menu on 27 September 2026.
Broadbeach has a dozen Italian restaurants and pizzerias within a short walk of Oracle Boulevard, and they are very different nights out: a special-occasion dinner at The Star, a new handmade-pasta room on Surf Parade, a loud group table beside the Oracle, and family-run places that have been there since the 1980s.
We searched every Italian venue in and around Broadbeach, confirmed which are actually trading (four we found listed elsewhere have closed or merged), read each shortlisted venue’s current menu on 27 September 2026, and ranked on recent reviews rather than lifetime Google stars. Where a venue’s own website and Google disagree on opening hours, we say so.

1. Cucina Vivo - Best for a Special Night
Cucina Vivo, on the lobby level of The Star, is the most complete Italian restaurant in Broadbeach: housemade pasta, a wood-fired pizza oven and a wood-fired grill. It has 1,034 Google reviews and its 60 most recent average 4.73 - the strongest recent run of any Italian venue here (checked 27 September 2026).
From its menu (updated December 2025): Margherita $26, spaghetti carbonara Romana $33, the house veal scallopine $50 and a 1 kg bistecca Fiorentina for $149. Every pizza can be made gluten-free for $5, gluten-free and dairy-free options are marked on the pasta, and there is a kids’ menu. It lists wine and Italian-restaurant awards on its own site.
It serves dinner Tuesday to Saturday only, from 5:30pm, and adds 15 per cent on public holidays. Book online; it is the one to reserve for anniversaries and birthdays.
Cucina Vivo is closed Sunday and Monday nights. On those nights, Gemelli and Valentinos are open, and Oro is open on Sundays.
2. Oro by Sogno Italiano - Best Handmade Pasta
Oro opened at 95 Surf Parade (the former Vida site) around the start of 2026 and is Broadbeach’s pasta room: handmade pasta and gnocchi, seafood and a grill, with Friday piano evenings and a private dining room. It deliberately does not serve pizza.
From its March 2026 menu: spaghetti carbonara $39 - or $90 for two, tossed at the table in a pecorino wheel - rigatoni ragu $39, gnocchi e agnello $45 and eye fillet $50. Every pasta and gnocchi can be made gluten-free for $4, and dietary options are marked throughout.
It has a 4.8 on Google from 223 reviews, but treat that with some care: it is a young restaurant and its recent reviews arrived quickly and often name the same waiter. Its own site says it is closed on Mondays (Google says open), and it is open Tuesday to Sunday with lunch Thursday to Sunday. Book through its website.
The $90 carbonara finished in a pecorino wheel at your table is the dish to order if you are celebrating. Say so when you book.
3. Gemelli Italian - The Broadbeach Classic, With Rules
Gemelli, at 2/2685 Gold Coast Highway beside the Oracle, is the Broadbeach benchmark by volume, with 2,352 Google reviews. Pasta is made fresh daily in-house, pizza is wood-fired, and its wine list holds a Gourmet Traveller Wine award. From its May 2026 menu: Margherita $28, spaghetti alla carbonara $40, rigatoni ragu (8-hour oxtail and pork shin) $48 and a 350 g bistecca $70. Gluten-free rigatoni ($4) and pizza bases ($5) are available.
The honest caveat is on its own website: tables of two get 90 minutes, the 5pm sitting 90 minutes and the 6-6:30pm sittings two hours; only from 8pm is there no time limit. Groups of 12 or more must take a set menu. Its recent reviews (averaging 4.05) are mostly about being asked to leave after slow food, plus noise. Surcharges are 10 per cent on Sundays and 20 per cent on public holidays.

It is the only sitting without a time limit. Earlier tables are timed, and slow nights mean less time to eat.
4. Valentinos - Best for Families
Valentinos, at 29a Victoria Avenue, has been run by the Covino family since the 1980s, with Neapolitan roots and a big classic menu: pizza, pasta, veal, seafood and steak, inside or out on the street. It is open for dinner every night from 5pm, and its 60 most recent Google reviews average 4.65.
From its current menu: spaghetti bolognese $34, spaghetti pescatore $45, veal parmigiana $45 and a large Margherita $30. Gluten-free pasta is available. It is fully licensed (no BYO) and adds 15 per cent on public holidays.
Reviewers love the owner greeting tables; the complaint is waits of an hour or more for large groups on busy nights. For bookings less than 48 hours ahead, ring (07) 5570 1030 between 4pm and 6pm.
Open seven nights with a menu that suits every age - the easiest family Italian in Broadbeach when Cucina Vivo is closed.
5. Ciccio’s Pizza & Gelato - Best Casual
Ciccio’s, in the Phoenician’s east tower at 104 Surf Parade, is a casual pizzeria and gelateria rather than a full restaurant (there is no pasta menu), and the best-reviewed pizza-first venue in Broadbeach: 4.7 from 369 reviews, 4.72 across the 60 most recent. A Margherita is $29.70 and a capricciosa $33, with a vegan pizza on the menu. It is open every evening, with weekend lunches, and does pick-up and delivery. Even if you eat elsewhere, Ciccio’s is the easiest dessert stop on Surf Parade.
6. Mario’s - Most Convenient
Mario’s, inside the Oasis centre, is a traditional pizza-and-pasta house with a very large menu and outdoor tables. From its May 2026 menu: Margherita $22, $28 or $34 (small, medium, large), spaghetti bolognese $38 and fettuccine carbonara $40, with gluten-free options marked widely. Surcharges are 10 per cent on Sundays and 15 per cent on public holidays, and it does not split bills.
Its own contact page says dinner finishes at 8pm Monday to Thursday - much earlier than Google shows - so it suits lunch and early family dinners. Recurring review complaints are lukewarm food and long waits.
Per its own site, the kitchen finishes at 8pm Monday to Thursday and 8:30pm Friday and Saturday.
7. Modo Mio - Best at Pacific Fair
Modo Mio, in the Pacific Fair dining precinct, is Italian-inspired resort-style dining - pizza, pasta, steak, seafood, a bar and high tea - and the pick if you are already shopping. Margherita $28, rigatoni alla carbonara $32. Lunch runs daily from 11am to 3pm, and dinner Thursday to Saturday only. It does not publish a gluten-free policy, and its phone line is text only; book online.
Dinner is only Thursday to Saturday. For a weeknight Italian dinner, walk back to Gemelli or Valentinos.
Closed, Merged or Not Worth It
Older lists still name Italian restaurants that are no longer trading in Broadbeach. Vida on Surf Parade has closed and Oro now occupies its site. Piatto at Mermaid Beach has merged into its sister restaurant Cantina. Biscotti and Luna’s show as temporarily closed on Google.
Double Zero, a wood-fired Neapolitan pizzeria opposite the convention centre, had the cheapest wood-fired Margherita we found ($23), but its recent reviews average 3.85 and several report a change of owners; we have left it off until that settles. La Porchetta is a national chain. Freghete in Broadbeach Waters is the highest-rated pizza nearby (4.9) but a 20-25 minute walk - see our pizza guide.
If a guide sends you to Vida, it is out of date. Oro by Sogno Italiano is now at 95 Surf Parade.

Oro makes every pasta and gnocchi gluten-free for $4. Cucina Vivo offers gluten-free bases on all pizzas ($5) and marks gluten-free pasta options. Gemelli has gluten-free rigatoni ($4) and pizza bases ($5), Valentinos has gluten-free pasta, and Mario’s marks gluten-free dishes throughout, per their own menus on 27 September 2026.
Gemelli’s own website sets sitting times: tables of two and the 5pm sitting get 90 minutes, the 6-6:30pm sittings two hours, and there is no limit from 8pm. Groups of 12 or more must take a set menu. Book the 8pm sitting for an unhurried dinner.
Gemelli and Valentinos serve dinner every night, and Mario’s is open daily (with an early dinner finish). Oro is open on Sundays but, per its own site, closed on Mondays. Cucina Vivo is closed on both Sunday and Monday.
